Successfully represented automotive leader DaimlerChrysler Corporation in an appeal of a breach of warranty judgment to the North Carolina Court of Appeals. The judgment was reversed.

Successfully defended the City of Fayetteville in a wrongful death lawsuit involving multiple defendants and claims arising from an automobile collision. The North Carolina Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s judgment in our client’s favor.

Acted as bond counsel, co-bond counsel, issuer's counsel or special counsel for acquisition, construction and infrastructure projects for affordable housing and community economic development.

Defended a mental health services provider in the seminal case of Carrieing Home Health Care, Inc. v. N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, which established that the North Carolina Department of Justice was obligated to defend local management entities.

Represented the City of Fayetteville in the negotiation of a cable television franchise agreement with Time Warner.

As defense counsel for American Express Financial Advisors, successfully defended key company executives in high-profile litigation asserting breach of contract, wrongful discharge, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty. All claims were dismissed at trial and the decision of the trial court was affirmed by the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Act as counsel to numerous healthcare providers, including continuing care and life care facilities, nursing homes, providers of mental health services, physicians and dentists, in operational matters and before regulatory agencies.

Acted as counsel to Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority in connection with the Hope VI Grant used to finance the acquisition and construction of affordable housing utilizing low income housing tax credits, tax-exempt and taxable bonds, and grants. Fully leveraged, the Hope VI grant created more than $100 million in revitalization and new development activity.
